A unique Sports Complex in the heart of D2, HCMC, Vietnam

Welcome to The Boat Yard

"Covid lockdowns forced creative and innovative thinking.

So we established a Vietnamese Company to specifically focus upon the sporting needs for individuals + companies throughout Vietnam: Vietnam Sports Development + Management - VSDM

Cricket is reliant on resident expats and Vietnamese, so how to give back to the  community and offer them something different? Most players practice on football fields which are unsuitable for small numbers. Using 5 a-side pitches were ok apart from the potential for accidents with the ball passing through the nets (designed for footballs) and hitting innocent bystanders. So, we took over this neglected and under-used astroturf pitch, hidden away in the Maritime Academy in D2, and went to work. Small mesh netting now surrounds the sides and covers the roof, allowing cricketers to play their full range of shots.

We started a Saigon Women's + Men's Sixes League, a Mixed-Sixes League and regular Junior Cricket training.

The VCA Teams: ECCS, SACC,  + ICCS all use the field for their weekly practice and training; it's open to all clubs, existing and new.

We're now diversifying into other sports including VietKick (AFL), Hockey and Football (soccer).

The field is becoming popular with the local International schools during the day for curricular sports.

We hope to see you here soon"
